Other functional films

High-barrier films are customized polymer films engineered to block oxygen, moisture, light and other external influences. Usually produced from PET, BOPP, CPP or multi-layer composite structures with barrier coatings, they extend shelf life and protect sensitive goods. Metallized films belong to high-barrier products. They are polymer films covered with ultra-thin aluminum layer. Metallization upgrades gas and moisture resistance while creating metallic reflective appearance. All metallized films are high-barrier films, but not all high-barrier films are metallized. Some achieve barrier performance via multi-layer lamination or special coatings without metal layers.
